As an organisation you must seek out awards that match your goals and achievements. Pick awards which are appropriate and related to your business. Applying for random or off topic awards will only lead to time, effort and money being wasted.
Be specific when choosing the award you would like to enter. The more specific the award, the better you will be able to tailor your entry to meet the needs of the marking scheme. Take caution to ensure that the award matches your organisations skills and achievements otherwise the application will fail.
Next, check that you have all of the attributes needed to win the award. There is always a marking scheme written alongside the award which allows you to check your organisations’ achievements against. It tends to list what kind of company you must be and what you must have achieved. This is a good way to find out whether it is worth your time and effort to enter the award.
Lastly, be prepared to look at awards you wish to enter in advance. This could be up to a year in order to be prepared, but will allow you plenty of time to refine your entry and have the best possible chance of winning.
