etc.venues announces new London Paddington venue and upbeat outlook

etc.venues the award winning city centre venue provider has announced  a ninth venue (8th in London) in the Paddington Waterside Development, due to open in March 2011.

The new venue is  part of etc.venues’ ambitious expansion plans and follows hot on the heels of the 8th venue opened in September in the City at 120 Moorgate.

The venue, which is a few minutes walk from Paddington Station will offer the  etc.venues hallmarks of  light, bright meeting space with wonderfully high ceilings, high spec AV and contemporary restaurant and breakout space served by a dedicated kitchen staffed by etc.venues’ own chefs.

The venue, which  is next door to M&S’s new Paddington HQ and  Orange  will have a capacity for 500 delegates with the largest of ten meeting rooms seating 200.

Alastair Stewart, MD of etc.venues said:-

“Paddington is unrecognisable from a few years back and is emerging as an important new business district in London on the back of the impressive Paddington Basin and Waterside developments.   Heathrow is only 15 minutes away by express train and Crossrail is on its way.  Clients have told us the area is short of good venues and that’s the gap in the market we intend to fill with our ninth venue.”

“Our new Paddington venue is a continuation of our strategy to offer high quality, great value city centre venues easily accessed by public transport.”

Commenting on trading, Alastair added:

“Our results for last year were encouraging with sales, in a very challenging year, growing by 6% year on year to £15.7m (12 months to June 30th 2010).  2010/11 has started even better with sales up 18% after the first five months.”

“We’ve achieved our growth by continuing to take market share away from more expensive venues and  hotels which in the current climate organisations, and now particularly those in the public sector,  can neither afford nor afford to be seen using.”
