Harrogate International Centre is marking the end of a successful year by releasing details of testimonials received from clients, whilst thanking the media.
HIC’s, Head of Sales and Marketing, Alison Griffin said: “As we look forward to the New Year, we cannot say goodbye to
2010 without thanking our friends in the media who have been wonderfully supportive. The press has played a great role in promoting HIC domestically and globally and reporting on our success. We want to thank you and hope that we will continue forward with this relationship in 2011.”
Alison added: “2010 has been a very busy and successful year for us. We undertook a huge range of national and international events where we continually demonstrated our ability to provide added value and world class experience to the organisers and events. Harrogate International Centre also achieved more than £92 million for the local economy during the first six months of our 2010/2011 financial year.”
As for testimonials……
HIC’s Alison concludes: “Working with such a diverse range of clients is a true delight and we really want to thank them for building such a wonderful relationship with us. HIC’s events services team overcome many challenges when supporting clients and their events, and it’s always satisfying to receive recognition of the high standards the HIC team attain.”
On the first day of Christmas, our true love said to us:
1. “The venue provided wonderful facilities for networking areas and meeting points, as well as housing a large exhibition and rooms for over 400 presentations and workshops. The feedback from delegates has been very positive and Harrogate is a very popular destination for our members.” Glenda Smart, IATEFL Executive Officer, March 2010
2. “Demonstrating the strong attraction of Harrogate as a major national venue, the Harrogate Nursery Fair saw an estimated 40% increase in visits to this year’s show. To satisfy the demand from companies for exhibition space, the show also took in an additional hall.” Robert Anslow, Event Organiser, Harrogate Nursery Fair, March 2010
3. “Just a quick note to thank you and all the team (including Kudos) who helped turn the disastrous event at the Majestic into the resounding success that was last week’s Toymaster May Show. I fully understand and appreciate the difficulties/challenges our event must have presented you all with having booked it on the Monday and needing the carpet laid on the Friday. To say you were all a pleasure to deal with is a total understatement.” Ian Edmunds, ToyMaster Ltd, May 2010
4. “Thank you to all the team for all your hard work – we had a very successful conference and the feedback received from the delegates so far is all very positive.” Alex Guinane, Jenny Wilde Associates, ISBA (Independent School Bursars Assn) May 2010
“HG3 Conferences organised this year’s EAPD Congress in June at the Harrogate International Centre and the event was a great success thanks to the hard work and commitment of all the staff who work at HIC.” Nicola Peel, Managing Director, HG3 Conferences Ltd, June 2010
6. “An exhibition of this size requires a great deal of flexibility from a venue and the whole team at HIC worked with us to provide a 2010 event that eclipsed all others. Harrogate is the perfect location for the event, sitting right in the middle of the UK it is easily accessible through the national motorway network – a fact that is clearly demonstrated by the regional breakdown of attendees. One of our chief aims for 2011 will be to build on the international (particularly European) attendance.” David Spencer, Show Organiser, Hearth & Home Show, June 2010
7. “Words cannot really express how very grateful I and my committee are for your excellent help and support last week. We can plan all year for a Show but it needs someone with your wide knowledge and expertise to guide us through such a busy week. Your problem solving capability is second to none, particularly when under pressure, and I very much appreciate all your help with the traders, marshals, unloading and loading competitors, etc. All of the staff were so helpful and I have received many compliments to pass on to you, nothing was too much trouble.” Margaret Rumens, National Shows Chairman, NAFAS (National Assn of Flower Arranging Societies) July 2010
8. “The setting for the Harrogate Show within the town centre is, for many exhibitors, more conducive to business than inner or outer city sites. The friendly atmosphere and quality in the many bars, restaurants and hotel venues, all within walking distance of the exhibition halls, makes it easy for exhibitors to meet their buyers informally and do business.” David Wildman, Event Organiser, Harrogate Flooring Show, September 2010
9. “Thank you again for everything, you guys at HIC are great to work with, shame the other venues are not as helpful as you lot are!” Linda Williams, Managing Director, UK Weddings Show, September 2010
10. “Our event’s success has always been partly due to our choice of destination. Harrogate is the only destination in the UK to offer the perfect blend of location and facilities. The town also has a unique feel and atmosphere – our delegates feel safe, they know they can park at their hotel and walk to the venue; and above all the quality of local infrastructure, restaurants and bars means just as much networking takes place in the evenings as it does during the day.” Pauline Thompson, BIGGA (British & International Golf Greenkeepers Assn), October 2010
“The conference this year was the best ever yet for Wounds UK. As usual the HIC staff were at their best. They carry out their business in a professional manner and are always ready to help and solve any problems we may have. All members of the HIC staff are very willing to assist Wounds UK and no task is a problem for them. All this is done in a friendly manner which helps a lot when everyone is so busy.” Vi Guyan, Operations Director, Wounds UK November 2010
12. “It was my first ever event at the Harrogate International Centre and it was a fantastic venue to work in, with great staff and we were delighted with the numbers of people that came through.” Tim Etchells, Managing Director, Single Market Events (Love Cooking Roadshow), December 2010
