ISM Going for Gold conference a success at LSO St Luke’s

The  (ISM) annual conference – Going for Gold – at

LSO St Luke’s has been hailed a success by organisers.

LSO St Luke’s, one of London’s most unique venues, was chosen to host the annual conference due to its association with musical performance but also because it is located in the centre of the Olympic Games host city and reflected the theme of this year’s event – aspiration and achievement.

The ISM Conference provides an opportunity for music professionals to come together to discover, learn, and network. This year’s two day conference included a wide variety of thought-provoking talks, debate and live music, including legendary conductor Sir Colin Davis in conversation with journalist and writer Richard Morrison. The event also saw delegates enjoy the splendour of LSO St Luke’s Jerwood Hall during an evening drinks reception and dinner which included a concert by the Guildhall Jazz Band.

Kim Davenport Gee, head of publications and events from ISM, said: “LSO St Luke’s was an ideal backdrop for our annual conference. It provided us with all the facilities and space we needed for over 150 delegates and an exhibitors’ fair. The staff were friendly and on hand to help with the successful running of our largest annual event.”

Lucy Walker, acting sales and event manager at LSO St Luke’s, comments: “LSO St Luke’s has a long association with musical performance. However, the ISM chose to hold its annual conference at LSO St Luke’s based on its capability to host events of this size. We’re pleased the event was such a success and was able to capitalise on being in the host city of the Olympic Games, a theme which was reflected in the diverse conference programme.”
