LSO St Luke’s to benefit from increased capacity following client feedback

LSO St Luke’s, run by the London Symphony Orchestra, has increased its capacity from 360 to 450 people in response to client demands.

LSO St Luke’s is one of London’s most unusual venues.  The 18th-century Grade 1 listed Hawksmoor church, restored to become the home of the LSO’s community and music education programme, is also one of the City of London’s most unusual venues for conferences, meetings and events.

Following feedback from clients, LSO St Luke’s has worked closely with the local council to improve facilities and increase the space to 450 guests for a reception or party.

LSO St Luke’s Marketing Manager Tomoyo Miyakawa says: “LSO St Luke’s is not only a landmark destination for chamber music performance, but it has also become a popular destination for a wide variety of corporate and private events. Since it is a historic building, it has always been a challenge to make changes that will allow us to accommodate larger audiences.

After careful consideration and some investment in the Jerwood Hall, we look forward to the new clients this increase in capacity will bring to the venue.”

To help promote the enlarged space, LSO St Luke’s announced a summer discount of 15% on hire of the Hall, perfect for conferences, meetings, receptions and private parties.

LSO St Luke’s is also regularly used as a City based performance venue, hosting artists such as Elton John, Sting, Bruce Springsteen, the London Sinfonietta, Asian Music Circuit and Aled Jones.  The venue is also used for London Symphony Orchestra rehearsals and music education workshops.
