LSO St Luke’s to host BFI London Film Festival Awards

The 55th BFI London Film Festival will take place from Wednesday 12 October to Thursday 27 October 2011.  This will be the second year the BFI has used LSO St Luke’s for its culmination awards.

The film festival brings the world’s best films to London. The 16 day festival was a great success last year, ending with the premiere of Danny Boyle’s 127 hours.

Victoria Steinitz, Sales and Events Manager at LSO St Luke’s, said: “To host the awards for the second time in a row is a true accolade for LSO St Luke’s. Choosing us to host it again is recognition of the great work that our team did last year, alongside the clients’ own love of the venue. Some of the big names that attended the festival last year included Andy Serkis, Danny Boyle and Martin Scorsese. We are all highly excited at the prospect of putting on another great show this year.”

The BFI London Film Festival held its annual drinks reception at Cannes recently.  Amanda Nevill, Director of the BFI, and Sandra Hebron, Artistic Director of the London Film Festival, both gave speeches to the assembled crowd of filmmakers, industry delegates and international press. They promised that this year’s London Film Festival will feature even more exclusive content than before.
