Meet The Team – Richard Puddle

In the first of our ‘Meet The Team’ blogs we catch up with Soaring Worldwide design and development executive, Richard Puddle.

“We are quite a new team here at Soaring Worldwide and I’ve only been here for seven months but it has honestly flown by because it is such a great place to work.

“My role here at Soaring involves a lot of web development, video production and the design of marketing material for both ourselves and clients. I work across quite a few accounts and much of that work is focused on the creation or maintenance of client websites. I also work heavily with video editing and production from everything to marketing campaigns to basic interviews for their YouTube channels. We’re expected to work across many different skill sets so customer service comes high in my priorities. It’s a challenging role but I am really enjoying it so far.

“The variety of different projects we have going on here at Soaring was just one of the things that attracted me to this role. There was a real scope for me to develop myself as an employee and improve on my knowledge in the area but the team itself has been a major bonus for me. There is a really friendly atmosphere in this office and that has helped me to settle in and stretch my imagination when it comes to client projects.

“Getting the role with Soaring was something I was really proud of and I would call it one of the greatest achievements, and challenges, I have had in my career. I got here simply by starting my own website when I was 22 and developing my skill set over several years. I started to work on website for family and friends and it really took off from there. Looking back, if I could do anything differently, then it would have been to study web design and development at University although I couldn’t be trusted!

“Away from the office I am a keen motorsport enthusiast and I can normally be found racing cars at national level in Formula Ford. My girlfriend and I are fairly adrenaline fuelled so bungee jumping and sky diving also feature a lot but I’m a tennis fan too so I play a bit when I get the chance! A perfect day for me would probably involve an afternoon skydive and a quick 20 lap blast around my favourite UK race circuit, Cadwell Park but not before I had a lay in and a full English breakfast! In the evening that perfect day would probably end with a good film and bed!”

Quickfire… Favourite Film/TV Show/Book? “My favourite all-time film has to be Shawshank Redemption but Predator is also high on that list! We all watch a lot of boxsets in the office but my two favourite shows have been Breaking Bad and The American Office. My favourite book? It has to be Ayrton Senna – A Life Lived at Full Speed.”

If you could meet any historical figure, who would you choose and why? “Ayrton Senna or Jim Clark because they are the two greatest drivers of all time!”

What would you call your autobiography? “Puddle Makes A Splash!”
