MK Taxi offers new service for Kyoto business travellers

Business visitors to Kyoto are now able to conduct meetings on the road thanks to a fleet of new vehicles run by MK Taxi.

The company has invested in 10 ‘A Team’ style executive vehicles, which are based on a Toyota Hiace extra-high, extra wide body minibus.

The vehicles, which have been especially fitted out by a local coach builder exclusively for MK Taxi, are aimed at high profile

executives who need to conduct business meetings while travelling. Each minibus accommodates seven people facing each other and travellers can be ensured privacy with curtains separating the driver from guests. The vehicles also have a TV screen which can be connected to a computer for presentations and videos.  As a number of travellers are expected to use the vehicles to conduct meetings during airport transfers, the vehicles are capable of carrying luggage for all seven passengers.

James Kent, international marketing manager of Kyoto Convention Bureau, has welcomed the new service. He says: “The initiative is primarily aimed at busy business executives who need to carry out meetings on the move. As Kyoto grows in popularity the service provided by MK Taxi will allow visitors to hold meetings wherever they are travelling, particularly when transferring to the airport. We expect this to become a popular service and hope that business travellers coming to Kyoto are able to take full advantage of it while they are here.”
