PR and communications are inextricably linked and deep subjects, which is why I am disappointed whenever I am requested to “just write a press release”. Sometimes I think people do it just to bug me! I am not denying the place or importance of releases for getting a story out there but there are so many other ways to consider. Different approaches that make stories bespoke to each audience whether they are press, client, staff or stakeholder.

So you have a story. True, a release can help you get it out there…but ask yourself (or us!) how many other methods you could use?
