Following the launch of MPIWeb Connect, the MPI UK and Ireland Chapter will be joining other chapters throughout the world as the association focuses on improving its educational programmes and building a larger, stronger community of members.
MPI UK and Ireland Chapter, president-elect, Samme Allen: “MPI has taken huge steps over the course of the past twelve months, focusing on the increase of one to one networking opportunities for suppliers to the industry. Just one example is MPIWeb Connect, which has provided members across the world with an increased $844 million buying power in just a few months to add to the previous $16.9 billion. MPI also recently announced plans to undertake and support further economic impact studies around the world that will provide previously unseen levels of information and data to the industry.”
To support these and future value-based initiatives, MPI Board of Directors has approved an adjustment to supplier membership rates, which will now cost $/€450. This is the first time MPI has increased any of its membership fees in more than seven years. MPI remains the most cost effective global association.
MPI UK and Ireland Chapter, president, Fiona Pelham: “Increasing the supplier fees will allow MPI to inject further investment into its networking and educational activity. For suppliers, MPI continues to offer an unique membership balance of planners, seeking professional event service providers throughout the world. MPI currently has the world’s largest planner community and consistently seeks to find unique ways to connect planners and suppliers to develop long-term relationships. As we grow over the coming years, these connections and opportunities will become richer and more positive than ever before.”
MPI remains the world’s leading provider of event education and knowledge with a recently expanded Professional Development on Demand portal which alone houses more than 160 hours of CEU eligible content. Additional investments from supplier members will allow the association to retain this position, ensuring the event industry stays better connected and more successful.
The price increases to not affect student, faculty or planner members. To ease the impact of the increases, supplier members renewing before 30th June 2011 will continue to pay fees at the previous level – even if they sign up for multiple years. Incentives are also being offered through to September 2011 for supplier members introducing new planner members.
In additional to the activity detailed above, suppliers are also now able to benefit from “on demand” access to audio, visual and reading material applicable to all areas of their business, further enhancing the educational elements of their membership.
