MPI UK and Ireland Chapter has recognised that our industry does not always practice what it preaches – particularly when it comes to teambuilding. With this in mind the Chapter organised a teambuilding showcase on 15th November, 2010, attended by 37 people from across the industry.
The event, which was open to MPI members for free and non-members for £35+vat, offered the chance to experience teambuilding first hand, courtesy of event sponsor Bluehat UK. Participants entered as a team or individually as part of an MPI team. MPI members were also invited to bring along a non-member for free.
The event focused around Bluehat’s simple but engaging Beat The Clock game, providing a role for everyone – from the technically minded to the creative, the problem solver to the leader.
MPI UK and Ireland President, Fiona Pelham: “The event provided member organisations with a free teambuilding experience, allowing them to grow and develop their own business whilst having a greater understanding of this key part of the event industry mix. Bluehat are leaders in the field and we were delighted that they decided to work with MPI to clearly demonstrate the value of live events as a means for team activities.”
The event took place at the recently opened Kings Place building, within walking distance of Kings Cross and St Pancras.
Andrew Walker, Eco-Efficient Events: “This was a great opportunity to get to know some of my fellow MPI members, especially since I am new to the UK Chapter. Looking around the room, I wasn’t sure what to expect and like most people in attendance, I was a little apprehensive. However, once the ‘Beat the Clock’ game started, you couldn’t help but get swept up in the excitement. Although our team came in last, we still had a blast!”
