MPI UK plans CSR event to coincide with Copenhagen Climate Change Conference

MPI UK and Ireland Chapter are once again demonstrating their forward thinking attitude and global leadership within the meeting industry by hosting a corporate lunch event to discuss the effects of the Copenhagen event (COP 15) as it happens.

The event, which has been organised by MPI’s CSR sub-committee is due to take place on Friday 11th December at the Barbican.

Key topics for discussion will include: •    The impact of the COP 15 summit on the meetings industry •    Opportunities from the COP 15 summit for the meetings industry •    Growth of CSR within the event industry

MPI UK and Ireland  Chapter, president elect, and managing director of Organise This, Fiona Pelham:  “In 2008 MPI was the first organisation to implement BS8901 for the sustainable management of an event, during their European Conference.  This same management system will be used by the Cop 15 summit  in what is likely to be the most significant CSR focused event for years to come, attended by a host of world leaders.”

“We believe the COP 15 event will be a turning point in the world’s attitude to CSR and it is vital that the event industry’s largest association (MPI) responds swiftly to the content of the event.  This lunch will provide the perfect forum to analyse  the outcomes of the summit and plan for the future.”

MPI UK and Ireland CSR sub-committee
