New door opens for Church House Conference Centre

Church House Conference Centre, one of London’s leading conference and events venues, has opened a new door after closing it for two weeks for annual refurbishment work.

The new door was officially opened on tuesday in a ceremony attended by the conference team.  Following the official ribbon cutting and first opening of the door, a celebratory cake was enjoyed by all, along with freshly made tea! (Its life in the fast lane at Church House!)

Church House Conference Centre, general manager, Robin Parker said: “The solemn and dignified ceremony yesterday marked a milestone in the venue’s ongoing growth and development.  Doors are vital to the smooth running of a conference centre and we look forward to seeing this one opening time and again to admit a host of clients and delegates.”

Removing his tongue firmly from his cheek Parker continued “2011’s refurbishment work included major changes to the Great Smith Street entrance and the installation of an improved  Wi-Fi network.  The additions, costing in the region of £150,000, will improve access to the conference centre and enhance the delegate experience.”

In addition to annual decoration and repair the refurbishment of the Great Smith Street entrance included the installation of sliding glass doors, which will further improve disabled access whilst creating a more professional look.

High capacity Wi-Fi service has been installed throughout the building, improving internet access for delegates at events of all sizes.

Parker concludes: “Whilst the majority of the changes to the building are part of our ongoing improvement works, the changes to the new entrance will provide a far more impressive arrival and departure point for event attendees, particularly those needing to use the entrance for disabled access.  The upgrading of the Wi-Fi will ensure that event delegates, with their focus on mobile working are fully catered for.”

Church House Conference Centre is a Grade II listed building situated in the heart of Westminster. It has exquisite views of Westminster Abbey, and its nineteen spacious and diverse rooms make it one of the best venues for private and corporate events.
