As well as a chance for runners to catch up with fellow runners to share their experiences participants were offered a well-deserved massage. It is the second year that the Children’s Charity has hosted the event at Church House.
Natalie Tarrant, Regional Fundraising Development Manager for the Children’s Society, commented: “Our post-race party is an opportunity to thank the dedicated team, who have been training hard to run the 26.2 miles and raising vital funds to support our work. Through our campaigning, commitment and care, we are determined to give every child in the country the greatest possible chance in life and the efforts of those taking part in the Virgin Money London Marathon play a great part in helping us achieve this. Church House is a perfect venue for this event, as it’s relatively close to the finish line, and a perfect sized room for accommodating all our team runners and their family and friends who are keen to support them on the day.”
Robin Parker, General Manager at Church House Conference Centre, says: “I have great admiration for all those who trained to take part in the Virgin Money London Marathon. Their efforts should be commended and we were happy to host the Children’s Society’s post-race party which recognises their achievements. Their fundraising efforts all go towards a very worthwhile cause.”
