The Meetings Show UK forges partnerships to guarantee buyers

Four strategic partnerships, finalised in the last month, will ensure The Meetings Show UK delivers

on its promise to bring high quality buyers to the inaugural event in 2013.

Through partnerships with the HBAA, The Buyers Networking Club, Convene and Conventa, The Meetings Show UK will engage with corporates, agencies and venue finders from across the UK and Europe.

Zibrant managing director, Christopher Parnham commented: “The Meetings Show UK answers our industry’s need for a UK focused show capable of bringing in top quality hosted buyers with a focus on meetings, incentives and conferences.  It has already established itself as a focused, professional place to do business and we expect it to deliver value in terms of time and education.”

The Meetings Show UK, Event Director, Steve Knight: “The success of The Meetings Show UK will be directly related to the attendance of quality buyers who organise meetings, conferences and incentives.  As a show organised for meeting professionals by meeting professionals we want to ensure that our strategic partnerships offer true value for all involved.  Consequently, whilst they give us unparalleled access to key corporate, agency, venue finding and European buyers they also allow us to directly give back to our partners.”

Details of the partnerships include:

HBAA Focused on venue finders and agency buyers, the partnership will ensure The Meetings Show UK is attended by these highly regarded and influential buyers who account for an estimated £2.3 billion worth of spending in the business travel sector.  In addition, venue and supplier members of the HBAA will benefit from the two organisations close working relationship.

HBAA, chief executive, Peter Ducker: “The Meeting Show UK’s partnership with the HBAA was welcomed at our annual forum last month. A significant number of our buyer members will be attending as part of the hosted buyer scheme, whilst our venue members see it as an opportunity to meet potential new clients and increase business in 2013.”

Buyers Networking Club Based around cross promotion at high profile corporate buyer events, this strategic partnership will exclusively promote The Meetings Show UK to this vital community in February and June 2013.  The agreement will see a strong presence from both organisations at each other’s events in addition to collaborative marketing including web based promotion.  The significant promotion of The Meetings Show UK to these corporate buyers is intended to increase their presence as hosted buyers in July 2013.

The Buyers Networking Club, Managing Director, Kim Paulden: “The Meetings Show UK will provide our industry with the perfect balance of professional education, networking and face to face meetings.  In particular the hosted buyer programme will be welcomed by our members.  All buyers have differing needs – needs that are being met by The Meetings Show UK’s in depth knowledge and understanding of our industry.”

Conventa, Slovenia and Convene, Lithuania Considered to be the most high profile events for the meetings industry in South Eastern Europe and the Baltics, partnerships with Convene and Conventa will ensure hosted buyers attending The Meetings Show UK represent the whole of the European market, whilst growing exhibitor attendance from the regions.  The strategic partnerships will promote all three events to all three buyer markets through balanced cross promotion and reciprocal marketing.

Miha Kovacic from Conventa; “As one of Europe’s most successful trade shows, with regular attendance from key buyers, these partnerships will ensure we continue to grow and provide a significant return for both our exhibitors and visitors.  In particular as the established show amongst the partnership, our long years of experience and success will be of benefit to The Meetings Show UK and Convene.”

Convene Exhibition Director, Jolanta Beniuliene: “As the new show for the meeting industry in the Baltic Sea region, close relationships with the expert teams at The Meetings Show and Conveta will ensure we deliver a high quality business environment and top quality exhibitors to the buyers attending our inaugural event in February, 2013.”

The Meetings Show UK’s inaugural event will take place during week commencing 8th July, 2013 at Olympia, London.  The 5,000 visitors to the show will include 1,500 hosted buyers from across the UK and Europe.
