Westminster Venue Collection appoints new Chair - Paul Martins of Broadway House – Make Venues

The Westminster Venue Collection, a leading association of premier event venues in the heart of London, has appointed Paul Martins from Broadway House at Make Venues, as its new Chair.

This announcement was made during the Westminster Venue Collection AGM last week. The AGM also revealed a record year for the collective, during which membership has surged by 40%, evolving from 25 to 35 venues. This development aligned a progressive new board direction with the support of Patch Marketing, the Collection’s digital marketing partner since the beginning of 2023.

Paul Martins brings a wealth of industry expertise, energy, and leadership from his role as a board member and vice-chair. Under Paul's leadership, the Westminster Venue Collection is poised for continued success in 2024 with plans that include further growth, regional FAM trips, digital marketing investment and wider representation at industry tradeshows.

Commenting on his appointment, Paul said: "I am proud to become Chair of the Westminster Venue Collection, following a year that included a fresh strategy and vision for growth. Our 40% expansion, which includes world-renowned venues such as Abbey Road Studios and the London Hippodrome, allows further investment in our digital marketing and showcase capabilities. This will enhance the event booking experiences for organisers and deliver returns for our members. The quality and volume of lead generation, the high level of revenue conversions and the ever-increasing platform, mean that as a marketing collective, the WVC delivers significant value to clients and venue members.”

Paul is joined on the Westminster Venue Collection board by:

  • Barbara Wutte, Royal Society (vice-chair)

  • Kay Davies, Houses of Parliament

  • Clare Davies, IET: Savoy Place

  • Rhiannan Thomas, Central Hall Westminster

  • Marina Papadopoulou, Church House Westminster

  • Jonathan Chohan, One Great George Street

  • James Bogle, QEII Centre
